The objective of the AUSAV project was to develop a mobile application utilizing 3D and augmented reality technology to make Central Europe's archaeological heritage more accessible to the public. Specifically, the aim was to address the challenge of insufficient accessibility to archaeological sites, as well as threats posed by development and natural processes.

Creative Process:

The creative process began with thorough market research and consultation with archaeologists and cultural heritage experts to understand the needs and challenges facing the preservation and accessibility of archaeological sites. We then devised innovative visualization approaches using 3D modeling and augmented reality to bring these artifacts to life on mobile devices. Iterative design and development cycles were employed to ensure the app's usability and effectiveness in engaging users with Europe's archaeological heritage.


The AUSAV app successfully provides users with an immersive experience, allowing them to explore archaeological artifacts in 3D and augmented reality. By leveraging advanced technology, we have enhanced the accessibility of archaeological sites, even those hidden underwater or threatened by development. The pilot site in Nitra, Slovakia, particularly the castle hill and adjacent archaeological sites from the Middle Ages, serves as a testament to the app's efficacy in showcasing Europe's rich history.
